Lick Run Community Market
We have a weekly farmer's market here at Lick Run Urban Farm during the growing season (at 1626 10th St NW, in the Washington Park neighborhood). The day for the 2016 Lick Run Community Market has not yet been decided, but any time you see someone working on the farm, you can ask about what produce is currently available to purchase. Lick Run accepts and doubles the value of food stamp/SNAP benefits in partnership with LEAP. There is a card reader on site to make SNAP purchases with, and we accept wooden SNAP tokens from any of the farmer's markets run by LEAP (Grandin Village, West End, or Mobile Market).
The Lick Run Community Market sells veggies, fruits, and herbs. Products sold at this market are produced in Roanoke on the Lick Run Urban Farm or produced within 100 miles of the market location.
We also sell our produce at the Grandin Village Community Market (on Saturdays during the growing season above the Grandin Village Co-op) as well as through the LEAP Mobile Market (Wednesdays in NW Roanoke, Tuesdays and Thursdays in SE Roanoke during the growing season). Food stamp/SNAP benefits are accepted and doubled at both of these farmer's markets.
